Patacones

Not all bananas are the same. That's why we're now trying South American Patacones! The plantain chips are the perfect combination of sweet and salty – and a delicious snack for in between.

1. Peel the plantains and cut them diagonally into slices about 1 cm thick.

2. Fill a frying pot about one-third full of oil and heat it to about 180 °C.

3. Deep-fry the plantain slices in portions for about 2 minutes each.

4. Take them out with a skimmer, put them on a board and flatten them with a second board or a glass.

5. Put the pieces into the pot again and deep-fry them until golden.

6. Drain the Patacones on household paper and salt them according to taste.
